Not limited ! Shiro Kasamatsu was a student of Kaburagi Kiyokata. In the 1950s he published bird and animal prints, landscapes and "famous views"for different publishers, like Unsodo and Watanabe. Shin Hanga and Sosaku Hanga style. (More modern) "Great Lantern at Asakusa Kannon Hall" by Shiro Kasamatsu This woodblock print depicts the famous giant red lantern of the Kaminarimon at Sensō-ji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo. Visitors in traditional and early modern dress are shown ascending the temple steps, emphasizing the blend of old and new in Kasamatsu's work. The strong contrast of vivid red and deep black highlights the monumental scale of the lantern, a celebrated symbol of the temple and one of Tokyo's most iconic sights. Shiro Kasamatsu is generally regarded as one of the top Shin Hanga woodcut artists in Japan. Size within the margin: 365 x 240 mm.
