Ásia Ocidental Ouro Conta granulado (Sem preço de reserva)

A Western Asiatic gold spherical bead, likely used for necklaces and bracelets. The bead is round in shape and is covered with gold granules arranged in sporadic rows. The bead is pierced longitudinally for suspension. Some minor signs of wear, such as some warping, as consistent with age. Many grand civilisations inhabited the area of the Near East and Western Asia in Antiquity, and their wealth and prosperity is witnessed by the very sophisticated precious metal crafting of jewellery. Gold beads would have been a part of elaborate larger pieces, such as on necklaces or bracelets in the area of Western Asia. Beautiful precious and semi-precious stones would have been added in the larger pieces to signify wealth and social status. These styles were at the centre of Near Eastern and Western Asiatic jewellery production and were later adopted by the Greeks, Etruscans and Romans. Gold necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets would have been worn in everyday life but also buried with the deceased. Measurements: L 0.7 cm X W 0.7 cm Weight: 0.84g Provenance: Ex Japanese private collection, deceased, 1970-2010. N.B. Delivery may be longer due to the busier period and we do not guarantee delivery before Christmas. Items paid for after the 19th December will be shipped after the New Year (week commencing on the 5th January 2026). **There will be an additional fee incurred for returned shipments due to buyer’s non-response to customs enquiries and/or unsuccessful delivery attempts.**
