Chilre de ouro europeu na plumagem de inverno Corpo inteiro embalsamado - Pluvialis apricaria - 21.5 cm - 22.5 cm - 12 cm

Pluvialis apricaria (European Golden Plover) – In excellent condition – No reserve A beautifully composed Pluvialis apricaria in winter plumage, presented in a serene, natural-history style that evokes the quiet stillness of northern peatlands. The bird stands gracefully in its mottled cold-season colours—soft earth tones, pale spots, and a delicate white underside—capturing the atmospheric character of this iconic wader species during winter rest. Imagine this elegant European Golden Plover adding a refined, almost museum-like presence to your interior. Its calm posture and subtle winter palette bring a quiet sophistication to any cabinet of curiosities, bookshelf, or natural-history inspired space. A wonderful high-end quality specimen that blends seamlessly into both modern minimalist and classic curated interiors. Natural history context The European Golden Plover is a migratory shorebird that breeds in Arctic and subarctic moorlands and winters across Western Europe. In winter plumage—shown here—the bird loses the striking black belly of its summer attire and adopts a softer, camouflaged pattern perfectly suited to open landscapes. Its gentle expression and finely patterned mantle have made it a favourite subject for naturalists and field ornithologists since the 18th century. Period, mounting & provenance Dated to the late 1970s to early 1980s. Mounted legally and professionally in the Netherlands in accordance with the 1936 Bird Act by high-end taxidermist R. Knol in Sint Maartensdijk (Netherlands). The metal ring visible on the leg is a typical bird-ring from the 1970s–1980s. Such rings were issued by ornithological organisations or breeders for identification and research, containing coded information such as the organisation’s abbreviation, the breeder’s or ringer’s unique number, the year code, and a sequential identification number. Condition In excellent vintage condition with beautifully preserved plumage and natural posture. Please review the photos to form your own impression. Dimensions: Approx. 21.5 × 22.5 × 12 cm Shipping Will be carefully packaged and shipped with tracking.
