There, the unlikely combination of several geological factors made possible the occurrence of a wide variety of finely crystallized mineral species, to such and extent that this deposit set the highest international standards for several species over the second half of the last century. Among these, cerussite is among the greatest classics, as Tsumeb is ranked among the most iconic localities for this species! Here is a nice and unusual specimen of smoky brown colour cerussite from the deposit, displaying a quite big 3.5cm doubly terminated crystal (note the back side is contacted-fractured) sitting a carpet of calcite with mottramite inclusions.
