Ferramenta de trabalho Antigo - Conjunto de plane de Kanna japonês

This listing features a vintage Japanese Kanna plane signed by the blacksmith Wakamori (若盛), paired with a rare natural whetstone “Torato” (虎砥) from Nammoku Village, Gunma Prefecture. The Torato stone comes from geological layers formed 50–60 million years ago, and the quarry has long been closed. No new stones can ever be produced, making existing pieces highly valuable among collectors worldwide. About the Plane (Kanna) • The dai (wooden body) is made of Japanese hardwood with a beautiful aged patina. • The laminated blade bears the engraved signature “若盛”, representing traditional Japanese blacksmith craftsmanship. • Though it shows rust and wear from age, the blade retains sufficient thickness for sharpening, restoration, or display. About the Stone (Torato – “Tiger Stone”) • A natural Torato finishing stone, once mined only in a small region of Nammoku, Gunma. • Formed in 50–60 million-year-old geological strata. • Quarry closed decades ago — no new Torato stones exist today. • Known for distinctive tiger-stripe patterns, fine abrasive particles, and its ability to produce a smooth, mirror-like edge. • Balanced hardness makes it ideal for final polishing of kanna blades and edged tools. Specifications • Plane maker: 若盛 (Wakamori) • Materials: Laminated high-carbon steel blade / Japanese hardwood dai • Plane length: Approx. 27 cm • Whetstone: Natural Torato stone (raw form) • Origin: Nammoku Village, Gunma Prefecture, Japan • Condition: Vintage; rust, patina, and wear consistent with age. Suitable for use, restoration, or collection. • Made in Japan A highly collectible set for enthusiasts of traditional Japanese tools, woodworking culture, and natural sharpening stones.
