This book tells small stories where women have sex outside of marriage by obligation, that’s why in the photographs women appear so serious. The book is titled Higa no onna. The word ‘higa’ means sex and ‘onna’ woman. The word ‘higa’ is an old word that refers to secret sex and has negative connotations, as if it was dirty sex. This word (higa) is no longer used today. Each page of this book contains a photograph and a small story. The photographs appear in different formats: square, circular, etc. In addition to that, the book is very well printed and is a rarity in its kind. The project's editor and creator, Akira Hirata, made three books with this theme. This is the third of them.
