Antique jaw model made of painted plaster in the early 1900s. There is no label present, however this model is definitely made by the the company Bock Steger Lips. The state of the model is good. There are only minor signs of wear to the paint and plaster, and the written letters indicating the different structures are clearly visible. An interesting model, with the veins, various types of teeth, caries and other features depicted. The plate is 33 x 20 cm tall. The German company Bock-Steger was a initially a partnership between the pathological anatomist Carl Ernst Bock (1809-1874) and Franz Josef Steger (1845–1938), who, in close collaboration with the University of Leipzig, produced a series of sculpted and cast anatomical models for use in medical schools.
