Tapete chinês de lã trançada à mão – "Bogu Tu" Natureza-morta na mesa do estudioso - China - século XX
This is a hand-knotted Chinese rug in an early decorative style (Art Deco), featuring a classic “Bogu Tu” (Antique Display) composition that symbolizes longevity, prosperity, and scholarly refinement—rich in the traditional spirit of Chinese literati culture.
The central image depicts a still-life arrangement on a scholar’s table, including the Four Treasures of the Study, along with vases, brush pots, books, incense burners, offering vessels, ornamental rocks, and auspicious symbols such as lingzhi mushrooms and ruyi scepters. These elements together convey wishes for peace, wealth, and longevity. The border is decorated with traditional geometric patterns and floral scrolls in a harmonious palette of deep blue, celadon green, soft apricot, and blush pink—typical of the late Qing to Republican era style.
This rug is entirely hand-knotted using high-quality wool, with fine workmanship, a soft and dense pile, and has been preserved in good condition. It is of high artistic and collectible value.
