My fascination with electronics started when I was about ten years old. I would take apart anything I could get my hands on and, more importantly, try to understand how it worked. My grandfather’s old cigar boxes became the cabinets for my first tube radios—crude by today’s standards, but enormously educational and the beginning of a lifelong passion. At the age of fifteen, I repaired my first color television: a genuine Philips K7 chassis. Working on a complex color TV at that age was quite an adventure, and it taught me that even complicated electronics can be understood, diagnosed, and repaired with patience and curiosity. My interest eventually became more than a hobby. I studied analog electronics and went on to design integrated circuits, gaining a solid understanding of electronics from individual components all the way to highly integrated systems. These days, electronics has come full circle for me. What started with tube radios in cigar boxes has become a hobby of finding, restoring, repairing, and occasionally selling interesting pieces of vintage electronics. I particularly enjoy bringing old equipment back to life and preserving the technology, craftsmanship, and character of another era. Unfortunately, there is one practical limitation: I simply don't have enough space to keep everything I find and restore! So, from time to time, some of these pieces have to find a new home. When I sell an item, I therefore try to describe it honestly and accurately, including its condition and any work that may still be required. For me, these are not simply old electronic devices—they are pieces of engineering history, and each one has a story to tell.
