Graeme Morris is a figurative and portrait artist who graduated with a B.A. from the Glasgow School of Art. His work focuses primarily on the human figure and portraiture, with oil on canvas forming the central part of his practice. Morris draws inspiration from found photographs, personal drawings, observation, and imagination, using these sources as starting points for intuitive and expressive paintings. His practice also encompasses a range of materials and techniques, including china marker, pencil, biro, acrylic, and oil paint. Combining elements of traditional figurative representation with a personal and expressive approach, Morris’s paintings explore the character, presence, and individuality of the human form. His work continues to evolve through an ongoing exploration of materials, imagery, and the possibilities of contemporary figurative painting.
