Ceas Zaandam / Zaanse - Alamă, Lemn - 1960-1970
Decorative Dutch wall clock in a traditional style, featuring rich brass ornamentation and classical symbolic elements.
The clock is fitted with a silvered dial with Roman numerals and a minute track. Finely pierced brass hands accent the dial. The case is made of solid wood with an attractive natural patina.
The upper section is elaborately decorated with a brass superstructure featuring sculptural figures and ornamental motifs, topped with a gilt moon globe. The clock is powered by a mechanical weight-driven movement with brass plates. Two brass weights on chains are present, as well as the pendulum.
The dial bears the traditional Dutch inscription “NU ELCK SYN SIN”, commonly found on decorative Dutch wall clocks.
The clock dates from the second half of the 20th century and was produced in a style inspired by earlier Frisian and Zaan-region clocks.
Condition: very good, with natural patina. The clock is in working condition at the time of inspection.
Delivery: wall clock, two brass weights, pendulum.
