Pegasus, the winged horse born from Medusa’s blood, embodies absolute freedom, divine power, and elevation beyond the human condition. Bellerophon, the mortal hero who tamed him, represents courage, mastery, and the human desire to rise above one’s limits. Together, they form a fragile alliance between instinct and control, strength and intelligence. I chose to focus on the moment of tension rather than triumph. Pegasus is not shown in flight, but in a state of contained energy, rearing up, resisting gravity. This suspended posture amplifies the psychological charge of the scene: ascension is possible, but never guaranteed. The composition deliberately avoids narrative comfort and instead emphasizes raw potential. The sharp stencil cuts carve the anatomy with authority, echoing classical sculpture while stripping it down to its essence. The textured blue background evokes the sky, the divine realm, and the unreachable. It also functions as a symbolic void — a space of temptation, risk, and ambition.
