Description:
Original colour lithograph created in 1950 by Marc Chagall, one of the leading representatives of the École de Paris. The work was printed in the renowned Mourlot studio in Paris and published by Maeght Éditeur.

Chagall’s works are characterized by a distinctive visual language combining elements of surrealism, expressionism, and cubism. His compositions often feature poetic, dreamlike imagery, with recurring themes of love, memory, and spirituality. The use of vibrant colours—especially reds, blues, and greens—along with expressive distortions and fluid forms, are hallmarks of his style.

“Le Rêve” reflects these qualities, presenting a lyrical and symbolic composition typical of the artist’s mature period.

Condition:
Very good condition.

Marc Chagall studied under Yehuda Pen in Vitebsk and later at the Academy in Saint Petersburg. Between 1910 and 1914 he lived in Paris, where he encountered avant-garde movements and formed connections with figures such as Guillaume Apollinaire. After periods in Russia, he settled permanently in Paris in 1947.
