 “Stillness” is inspired by the sense of calm I always feel near the sea. I have always been drawn to open spaces, distant horizons, and that quiet atmosphere created between light, water, and silence.
For me, this painting is not about a specific place, but about a feeling. A moment where everything slows down and only calmness remains. I worked with transparent layers and soft textures, trying to preserve a sense of air, light, and reflection.
The three vertical elements appear almost like subtle presences or distant masts, without becoming descriptive. I like the idea that the viewer can discover their own story inside the image.
Painting these kinds of atmospheres is, for me, one of the most sincere forms of peace.

Next week, Cristina Talea will participate in MoBU – International Art Fair of Bucharest 2026, presenting recent works from the “Layers of Silence” series alongside established Romanian contemporary artists.

The work is an original abstract painting, manually crafted in acrylic on canvas, measuring 80 x 80 cm, using professional-quality acrylic colors. The size is balanced, neither aggressive nor too small, allowing the space to breathe and the work to be perceived as a unique object.
The painting is unframed, with additional edges of approximately 4.5 cm on each side, suitable for various mounting or framing solutions. It is recommended to stretch it and visit a specialized place for mounting.
The work is signed in the original, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. It is also signed and dated on the back of the piece.
