The Exceptional Sale spans works from all areas of art: Modern and Contemporary Art, Photography, Prints, and Classical Art. Bringing together works from a gallery alongside several private collections, this auction carries the atmosphere of a classical diverse sale, where each piece is connected by its quality and provenance.
Leading the auction are important post war works, notably Yves Klein’s 1961 Monochrome und Feuer triptych and Pablo Picasso’s Peintre et Modèle. While also highlighting one of the most iconic pop prints, Andy Warhol’s Electric Chairs, a rare, early lithograph by Robert Rauschenberg and an incredibly scarce piece by German’s conceptual artist Rosemarie Trockel piece, with only 15 examples produced from an intended edition of 30.
Dutch highlights include Hendrik Nicolaas Werkman’s graphic work Kalender 1944 and a vibrant watercolour by René Daniëls. Rounding out the sale is a selection from Martin Parr's iconic Common Sense series. With Parr's legacy currently celebrated in a major solo exhibition at Amsterdam's FOAM museum, these lots stand out as a highly topical opportunity for photography enthusiasts.
