The exhibition was hosted in the prestigious historic Palazzo delle Prigioni and opened on September 16, 1977. Andy Warhol exhibited his famous series of paintings and drawings, "Torsos," inspired by the statues in Rome's Olympic Stadium and his New York acquaintances. The subjects focus on the area between the waist and the thighs. The models assume poses reminiscent of ancient statuary and art classics. In October of the same year, the exhibition traveled to Paris, to the legendary Ace Gallery space inside the Grand Palais.
