The painting “Composition with Gold” by Irena Lenartowicz is an example of contemporary abstract acrylic art, strongly rooted in the aesthetics of Abstract Expressionism and so-called action painting.

Character and Style
At first glance, the work reveals an intense, almost “alive” structure. The artist uses techniques such as:

dripping,

splattering,
layering and wiping paint.

This makes the composition feel spontaneous, as if it were created in a single emotional gesture. Jackson Pollock is often referenced as a point of comparison for this style of painting.

Color and Contrast
The most striking element is the contrast between:

cool tones (grays, blues, blacks),
and warm, luminous gold.

Gold functions here not only as a color but also as a symbol—of light, energy, luxury, or hope. The contrast with the darker background builds drama and depth.

Sense of Movement and Space
The horizontal layout and the “dripping” vertical lines can evoke different associations:

reflections of light on water,
a city skyline,
or an abstract emotional landscape.

The piece conveys a strong sense of motion and process—as if we are witnessing the act of creation itself.

Interpretation
The painting can be interpreted in several ways:

as harmony within chaos,

a visualization of life’s energy,

or a dialogue between structure (order) and spontaneity (splashes of paint).

Role in Interior Design
This is a typical “statement piece”—large and expressive, it:

draws attention,

gives a space a modern character,

and adds elegance through its golden accents.
