Descriere de la vânzător

4 good impressions on paper. Napoleonic interest

Print 1
Jerome Napoleon, properly Jérôme Bonaparte, was born in 1784 in Ajaccio and was the youngest brother of Napoleon Bonaparte. He served in the French navy before being placed on the throne of Westphalia in 1807, where he tried to modernise his new kingdom along French lines, although his court became known for its expense and extravagance. His reign collapsed in 1813 after Napoleon’s defeats, and Jérôme spent the following years drifting between Switzerland and Italy before later returning to France. He died in 1860 in Villegenis, remembered as a spirited figure whose fortunes rose and fell with the Empire.

Print 2
This is a portrait of Jacques-Alexandre-Bernard Law, marquis de Lauriston (1768-1828), a French soldier and diplomat. He was a general officer in the French Army during the Napoleonic Wars. He was appointed a Marshal of France in 1823.

Print 3
Mme de Stael (1767-1817), after P. Sudre'

Print 4
French School - Prise des Tuilleries par les Parisiens le 29 Juillet 1830
Etching - Not signed - Bès et Dubreuil, editeur

Condition is good. Some foxing. Some folds.
