Descriere de la vânzător

Cutlery set of 48 pieces composed of twelve tablespoons, twelve table forks, twelve table knives and twelve coffee spoons.

In the refined world of Italian design, this Duna cutlery set by Marco Zanuso stands as a timeless icon. Originally conceived in 1960 for the “Design Competition for Italy” organized by American silverware company Reed & Barton, this set was destined to bring Italian elegance to the U.S. market. Today, Alessi celebrates this historic project with a faithful yet contemporary release.

Minimalist lines and progressively tapering handles define the collection. Zanuso focused on a single, distinctive detail: the narrowing of the grip’s end, an imaginary “narrow waist” reminiscent of 1950s fashion. This subtle curve transforms functional objects into sculptural pieces, embodying both rigor and charm.

As Alberto Alessi recalls: “This is the only Alessi design by Marco Zanuso, whom I often consider the father of Italian design. The extremely tight central part of the cutlery recalls the clothes worn by young ladies from good homes in the 1950s.” A poetic metaphor hidden in steel, elevating everyday utensils to symbols of elegance.

This Duna set is a timeless example of measured form, a design that anticipated contemporary taste with remarkable accuracy. Its mirror-polished 18/10 stainless steel construction ensures durability and brilliance, while its proportions convey harmony and sophistication.

Whether for daily use or as a collector’s piece, Duna is more than cutlery: it is a fragment of design history, a celebration of Italian creativity and craftsmanship.

This ''Duna'' cutlery set is in unused and new condition. Delivered with original packaging and documentation. The cutlery is dishwasher safe. Please read the manual carefully before using the set.
