CHAMBRE CLAIRE CHARLES CHEVALIER
Camera Lucida signed Charles Chevalier, circa 1835. This is a nice camera Lucida by the famous parisian maker Charles Chevalier. It’s in a box with 2 lenses. ( 2 missing ) On the Camer Lucida, there is an inscription in french: “Charles Chevalier, Palais Royal, 163 Paris”. The instrument and the prism are in good shape. Measurements of the box with red velvet are 25 x 5 x 2 cm
CHAMBRE CLAIRE BERVILLE
The Camera Lucida, or Chambre Claire in French, was widely used in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It was constructed entirely of metal and was considered both a scientific and an artistic instrument. This one is a classic Chambre Claire Univeselle by P. Berville.
The instrument and the prism are in a very good shape. Measurements of the box are 28 x 6 x 3 cm
