Byrå - Trä - Japan - Mini Samurai-skåp (Utan reservationspris)

This is a finely crafted miniature tansu chest inspired by the style of traditional furniture associated with Japan’s buke (武家, the samurai warrior class). Made from solid wood with visible straight grain and a warm, natural finish, the piece evokes the austere yet refined aesthetic favored by samurai households during the Edo period (1603–1868). The chest features multiple small drawers, each fitted with distinctive black metal ring handles and decorative nail heads, recalling the robust iron fittings (kanagu) commonly used on historic Japanese storage chests. The metal corner reinforcements on the top further enhance its armored appearance, reminiscent of travel chests and secure storage boxes once used to protect valuable items in warrior residences. Its structure and compartmentalized drawers make it especially suitable for collectors of samurai-related objects. The size and layout are ideal for storing and organizing sword fittings such as tsuba (刀鍔, sword guards), menuki, fuchi-kashira, kozuka, or other small fittings associated with Japanese swords. The drawers provide a practical and aesthetically appropriate setting for preserving these iron or mixed-metal artifacts, echoing the spirit of the samurai armory in miniature form. The overall design suggests strength, practicality, and understated elegance—qualities valued by the buke, who balanced martial discipline with cultural sophistication. While compact in size, this piece carries the visual presence of much larger traditional tansu, making it an appealing decorative object for collectors of Japanese antiques, samurai culture, or traditional Asian furniture. It functions beautifully not only as a display piece or jewelry box, but also as a refined storage chest for sword fittings and small martial artifacts, harmonizing perfectly with collections of Japanese blades or armor-related items. HxWxD: 17 × 16 × 12.5 cm Weight: approx. 635 g Condition:(Please see the photos) - It is in vintage condition. - Due to aging, there may be some scratches, stains or dirt. - Please note that the actual impression may differ depending on the lighting conditions when taking photos.
