IDENTITAS #3
This painting is part of a small series exploring the nature of personal identity and its evolution over time. The work reflects on how identity is shaped by both consistency and change, and how these forces interact to create a sense of self that is always in flux.
The piece is created on unbleached cotton twill using acrylic paint and embroidery, adding texture and depth to the visual narrative. By examining the balance between sameness and variability, the series questions whether identity is a continuous transformation or simply a series of variations on a constant theme.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ine Agresta (1988) is a Uruguayan artist based in Sønderborg, Denmark, and her art is her way of understanding people, their behavior, and how the world works, in order to better understand herself. Growing up surrounded by curiosity and materials, she was always making and observing, a spirit that led her to fashion and textile design in Montevideo, where her interest in clothing as a language of identity brought early national recognition. Her path has intentionally wandered through Uruguayan handcraft traditions, a fully funded master’s degree in Art Theory in Beijing, and time living in Greenland, where vast landscapes reshaped her sense of color and presence. Today, living in Denmark, her work is vibrant and emotionally clear, blending archetypal ideas with personal stories to explore what connects us and what defines her.

Ine Agresta är en uruguayansk konstnär som bor i Sønderborg, Danmark. Hennes konst är hur hon förstår människor, deras beteenden och hur världen fungerar, så att hon bättre kan förstå sig själv längs vägen.
Hon växte upp omgiven av tid, material och nyfikenhet, alltid skapande och alltid observant. Den rastlösa anden ledde henne in i mode- och textildesign i Montevideo, där hennes fascination för kläder som ett språk för identitet gav henne tidig nationell erkänsla. Därifrån vandrade hennes väg avsiktligt vidare, djupt in i Uruguayanska hantverkstraditioner, över världen till Beijing för en helt finansierad masterexamen i konstteori, och senare till Grönland, där det tysta livet bland oändliga vita nyanser omformade hennes känsla för rum, färg och närvaro.
Idag är hennes arbete livfullt, djärvt och känslomässigt tydligt, där hon blandar arketypiska idéer med personliga berättelser för att prata om det som förenar oss alla. Hon skapar som ett sätt att delta i livet, bygger intimitet genom bilder, material och delade erfarenheter, och älskar att öppna upp den processen genom utställningar, workshops och samtal var än hennes resa tar henne nästa.
