"BLUE (Signed)" is a collection of works by Japanese photographer Izu Takeo (1949-). Having spent many years photographing sacred sites and ruins with a large-format camera, Izu has explored the sense of time and prayer hidden within his subjects through meticulous tones and tranquil compositions. In this work, he shifts his gaze to the studio, exploring the human body and still lifes through his unique technique of layering blue cyanotypes onto platinum prints, pioneering new forms of expression. The deep blue layers softly shift the contours and shadows, creating a space that simultaneously highlights the certainty and transience of existence. The quiet emotion floating between light and shadow invites the viewer to contemplate the book. Signed by the photographer.
