About the Artist

MiLo is a Dutch contemporary artist whose work balances abstraction and figuration through expressive black line work, layered acrylic paint and scratched surfaces. His paintings are held in private collections throughout the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the United States, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Working almost entirely with acrylic on canvas, MiLo creates compositions in which gesture, texture and simplicity become the primary language. His distinctive technique of scratching into wet paint reveals underlying layers and gives each work a tactile, handcrafted character.
