Beskrivning från säljaren
Tissot Ballade C277/377W – Vintage Two-Tone Swiss Dress Watch with Sapphire Crystal
Model Overview
This elegant Tissot Ballade Ref. C277/377W is a distinctive vintage Swiss dress watch dating from approximately the 1990s. Founded in Le Locle in 1853, Tissot has a long tradition of producing refined and technically reliable Swiss watches, and the Ballade collection represents the more classical side of the manufacture.
This example is particularly attractive thanks to its two-tone construction, gold-tone coin-edge/fluted bezel, dark blue-grey textured dial and original matching bracelet. The applied gold-tone indexes, Roman XII and diagonally positioned date window give the watch a strong period character while remaining elegant and wearable today.

Dial & Hands
The dial is one of the highlights of this Ballade. It features a sophisticated dark blue/anthracite tone with a textured central section, surrounded by applied gold-tone baton indexes and a prominent Roman numeral XII.
The dial is signed “TISSOT 1853” beneath 12 o’clock and “Ballade” above 6 o’clock, with Swiss Made at the lower edge.
Gold-tone hands complement the indexes and bezel, while the date aperture is positioned diagonally between 4 and 5 o’clock – a characteristic design feature of this generation of Ballade.
Caseback
The original stainless-steel caseback carries the Tissot emblem together with the model identification and factory specifications:
TISSOT – Since 1853
C277/377W
Stainless Steel
Sapphire Crystal
Water Resistant 30M
These markings correspond with the construction and specification of the watch.
Bracelet & Clasp
The watch is fitted with its attractive two-tone metal bracelet, combining polished and satin-finished steel sections with repeating gold-tone decorative elements.
The bracelet design integrates particularly well with the fluted bezel and gives the watch considerably more character than a conventional dress-watch bracelet. It is completed by a folding clasp with Tissot branding.
Historical & Collector Context
Vintage Ballade models represent an interesting period in Tissot’s history when the company combined reliable Swiss quartz technology with surprisingly elaborate case, dial and bracelet finishing.
The fluted bezel, textured dial, Roman numeral and two-tone architecture are unmistakably influenced by the luxury Swiss design language of the late 20th century. Today these earlier Ballade references offer an attractive entry point into collectible vintage Tissot watches, particularly when the original bracelet and characteristic dial have survived together.
Condition Report
The watch is presented in good vintage condition, particularly considering its age.
The dial appears clean and well preserved, with the applied indexes, lettering and textured surface remaining attractive. The sapphire crystal presents well. The case and original bracelet show normal surface marks and light scratches from previous use, while the caseback displays more visible scratches consistent with age and regular wear.
The gold-tone bezel, crown and bracelet details remain visually strong.
The watch is currently functioning correctly. As with any vintage watch, no guarantee regarding future accuracy or water resistance can be provided unless specifically pressure-tested.
Please examine the detailed photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
Collector Appeal
A very characteristic 1990s Swiss Tissot with significantly more visual detail than a conventional quartz dress watch: sapphire crystal, textured dial, fluted bezel, diagonal date and a highly decorative original two-tone bracelet.
Its moderate case size and unmistakably period design make it particularly interesting for collectors of vintage Tissot and neo-vintage Swiss watches, as well as anyone looking for an elegant everyday watch with genuine 1990s character.
