Standing in the Light firar naturens tysta självförtroende som når uppåt. Höga, skulpturala blommor stiger upp genom ett rikligt lager av landskap i turkos, cobalt och smaragd, som öppnar sig i strålande nyanser av karmosin, korall, bärnsten och lysande guld.
Kompositionen byggs kring en stark känsla av vertikal rörelse. Smala stjälkar leder ögat uppåt, medan överdimensionerade blommor närmast är upplysta mot det djupare juveltonade bladverket. Fina linjära texturer ger blommornas och bladenas ömtålighet en finhet, i kontrast till intensiteten i den mättade färgen.
