Hamelink - Red Crocodile in Yellow

This original work by Bart Hamelink, titled Red Crocodile in Yellow, presents a large red crocodile against a warm, intense yellow background. The animal is reduced to a series of strong geometric shapes, with its long body, four legs, pointed back and characteristic zigzag teeth creating an immediately recognizable silhouette.

The simplicity of the composition is intentional. Hamelink removes unnecessary detail and allows shape, colour and proportion to define the character. The single circular eye and exaggerated teeth give the crocodile a humorous and slightly rebellious personality rather than making it appear threatening.
