Introduced in 1969 through the collaboration between Ihagee and Pentacon in Dresden, the Exakta RTL 1000 represents the modern transitional era of East German camera design, merging classic Exakta versatility with Pentacon engineering. Featuring an advanced vertically traveling metal focal-plane shutter, a modular interchangeable prism system with TTL metering capability, and dual shutter release ergonomics, the RTL 1000 offered photographers professional-grade functionality.
