Beskrivning från säljaren
Edokiriko Rocks Glass 江戸切子 ロックグラス(えどきりころっくぐらす)
This object is a glass vessel crafted using the traditional technique of Edo Kiriko, originating from Tokyo, mainly designed for enjoying whiskey or shochu on the rocks. The surface of the colored glass is hand-cut by artisans to reveal the clear glass inside, creating color contrast and three-dimensional patterns. These fine patterns change expression under light, and when ice and liquor are added, the cut surfaces diffusely reflect light, producing a kaleidoscopic radiance.
For ease of use as a rocks glass, the bottom is crafted thick to ensure stability when holding ice and liquor, giving it an appropriate weight, typically around 300g. It combines functionality with aesthetic appeal for appreciation while in use.
Furthermore, this object bears a gold traditional craft certificate sticker. This seal is an important proof indicating that the product meets the criteria designated by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry as a "Traditional Craft Object." Traditional craft seals are affixed to products that satisfy strict national requirements, such as preserving traditional techniques and raw materials with over 100 years of history, finishing key manufacturing processes by hand, and being intended for daily use.
