“Time Out 3” is a humorous contemporary Pop Art composition in which Luc Best combines vintage glamour, comic culture and fragments of everyday life. Instead of presenting the familiar world of heroes in dramatic action, the scene captures a quiet and slightly absurd moment of relaxation.
The contrast between the elegant central figure, nostalgic comic references and the layered graphic background gives the work its distinctive character. From a distance the composition is immediately striking; viewed more closely, numerous smaller details and visual references become visible.
