2. Meiji-period Aizu-nuri lidded box, believed to have been used as a confectionery vessel. It is decorated with a coastal scene depicting Mount Fuji and a sailing ship. Removed from the storehouse of an old established family, this is a rare example of Aizu-nuri from an early period.
