Ursula Stock (1937) - Space

Ursula Stock (1937).

Space, 1972. Original 7-color silkscreen. Paper Bristol.

Size: 60 x 60 cm.

Publisher: Graphik International. Edition of 150 numbered copies, hand-signed by the artist.

A distinguished disciple of Paolozzi and Lindner, she is a prolific and interdisciplinary German artist, designer, painter, and sculptor known for her bronze and aluminum pieces in public spaces in several German cities. Also known for her surrealist period of lyrical and evocative symbolism, Stock is best known for her machine-like abstract compositions of great purity, exploring multiple dimensions that idealize the space of representation.

The screen print we're showing is an example of exquisite technique and clean lines, with a lively, metallic, and dazzling result in the silk treatment, with an outstanding feel and balanced color and composition on Bristol paper of the right weight.
