Andy Jackson, along with David Gilmour and with the assistance of Damon Iddins, set about remixing and updating the recordings based on the original 1987 master tapes used for "The Later Years". The release of "The Later Years" in 2019 was an opportunity to revisit "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason", originally released in 1987. By revisiting some of Richard Wright's original keyboard recordings and re-recording the drums with Nick Mason, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin were able to create a better creative balance between the three members of Pink Floyd. The remixed and updated "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" also features new album artwork with an alternate bed photo of Robert Dowling from the original cover shoot directed by the late Storm Thorgerson, who died in 2013. Remixed in 2019 from the original master tapes.
