Great US Airborne / Glider troops overseas cap, with original mounted patch that was introduced in mid 1944.
Genuine cap with the famous WWII Airborne garrison cap insignia for other ranks, featuring a white glider and a white parachute on dark blue field surrounded with red circle. Worn from March 1944 until the end of the war by both paratroopers and glidermen. The cap has a beautiful patina and was recently found on a attic. It has a laundry number so in theory the original owner may be traced from his number. A very nice WW2 101st / 82nd or other airborne unit related piece of headgear, 100% WW2.
