Offered is an authentic skull of a Black-backed Jackal (Lupulella mesomelas, synonym: Canis mesomelas), a comparatively rarely encountered African canid species on the collector’s market. Due to its limited availability, skulls of this species are only infrequently offered, making them highly valued by zoological collectors, teaching collections, and museum institutions.
The present specimen is distinguished by its fine, well-proportioned cranial structure, characteristic of the Black-backed Jackal and clearly distinct from more commonly encountered canids. Particularly noteworthy are the elegant anatomical lines, the well-preserved dentition, and the overall harmonious morphology.
This is a new, unused specimen, imported from South Africa in 2026. The skull has been professionally prepared and is in a very good, display-ready condition, suitable both for scientific reference and high-quality presentation.
