KI-gestützte Zusammenfassung

Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung

For sale is a charming vintage taxidermied specimen of an American gray squirrel [Sciurus carolinensis].

The gray squirrel is a rodent species native to North America, belonging to the squirrel family. Unfortunately, it has also been introduced to Europe and is therefore an invasive species.
It is among the 100 most dangerous invasive species worldwide.
Besides size and weight, the gray squirrel can be distinguished from the Eurasian red squirrel in winter by the fact that it lacks the tufts of hair on its ears typical of red squirrels.

The animal was realistically taxidermied after its death.
The specimen is in good condition, apart from a small bald spot on the foot – which is not very noticeable, as you can see from the photos.

The specimen has no pest infestation or hair loss and comes from a smoke-free home.

The grey squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) is not protected in the EU. In fact, the opposite is true; it is an invasive species and has been on the EU list of invasive alien species since 2016.
The species was introduced to the United Kingdom and Italy, but it is not found in Germany. The specimen offered dates from the 1960s and was imported from Great Britain as a taxidermied specimen.
