Rare Almost Complete Huge Specimen of Marsaisia devoillei (Geyer, 2020) | Souss Lagerstätte, Morocco | PAIS9579
• Museum-grade huge adult specimen at NO RESERVE PRICE - UNIQUE OFFER!

OUR GRADING FOR THIS SPECIMEN: 4/5 **** - Complete exuvia of Marsaisia devoillei, a recently described and rare species, 3-D detail - including clearly visible branched pygidial terraces lines, positive/partial negative (cephalon). Lack of librigenea, desarticulated cephalon.
(Graded using our transparent 5-point system — see seller info for details.)
A scientifically significant plate from the Lower Cambrian of Morocco – featuring one Marsaisia devoillei well-preserved adult big specimen.
This exceptional plate features one adult specimen of Marsaisia devoillei, preserved as a almost complete exoskeleton but lacking librigenae – consistent with ecdysial remains (exuvia). Pygidium with strong visible branched terrace ridges, indicating growth lines.
Specimens show 3D relief and natural desarticulation, indicating minimal transport and rapid burial.
Morphology: Marsaisia devoillei is characterized by a long, tapering glabella, narrow pleurae, and a small, semi-circular pygidium – all clearly visible in this specimen. The 3D inflation of the axial lobe and well-preserved facial sutures highlight the exceptional preservation typical of the Souss Lagerstätte. Also note the conspicuous pleural spines with progressive growth up to the eleventh thoracic segment and sigmoidal anterior border of the first thoracic segment.
