Beautiful advertising poster printed in offset lithography (zweite Auflage)
Year of photographic shooting: 1967
Avedon was commissioned to photograph Paul McCartney and designed a series of posters that visually captured the new psychedelic direction of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Magical Mystery Tour.
Avedon superimposed Day-Glo colors and symbolic attributes on the solarized prints: Ringo's white dove of peace, George's mystical henna patterns, Paul's flower power and John's extravagant glasses.
