About the Brewery
Founded in 1946 in Watou, Belgium, Brouwerij St. Bernardus is one of the country’s most respected abbey-style breweries. Internationally renowned for its rich, complex and bottle-conditioned beers, the brewery is particularly famous for its Abt 12, often ranked among the best Belgian dark ales in the world.
St. Bernardus combines traditional craftsmanship with long maturation and refermentation in bottle, resulting in beers of exceptional depth, balance and ageing potential.
The Special Edition – “Around the World in 80 Years”
This 2021 release celebrates what would have been Panamarenko’s 80th birthday. The artist, known for his imaginative flying machines and visionary engineering-inspired artworks, collaborated with St. Bernardus during his lifetime. The label artwork reflects his fascination with aviation, exploration and technical invention.
