Boîte à couture ou coffret à ouvrage en bois clair (probablement chêne ou hêtre), structure à trois compartiments superposés avec poignées latérales en cuir riveté et poignées supérieures en bois formant une arche pour le transport. Conception pliante ou extensible (longueur totale ouverte 105 cm), ferrures en laiton ou métal patiné aux coins et charnières. Compartiments intérieurs pour rangement d’accessoires de couture (aiguilles, fils, dés, ciseaux, etc.), couvercles articulés sur chaque niveau. Style rustique ou atelier, probablement milieu XXe siècle (années 1950-1970). Provenance : collection privée belge.
État : bon état général pour l’âge, bois sain sans fentes structurelles ni infestation, pas de casse ni de déformation majeure, cuir des poignées intact sans déchirure notable (légère patine et usure d’usage), ferrures oxydées superficiellement mais fonctionnelles, surfaces avec traces normales de manipulation, rayures anciennes et patine uniforme foncée, mécanisme d’ouverture/fermeture fluide sans jeu excessif. Folding or extendable design (total open length 105 cm), brass or patinated metal fittings at corners and hinges. Interior compartments for storing sewing accessories (needles, threads, thimbles, scissors, etc.), hinged lids on each level. Rustic or workshop style, likely mid-20th century (1950s-1970s). Provenance: private Belgian collection.
Condition: good overall for age, sound wood without structural cracks or infestation, no breaks or major warping, leather handles intact without notable tears (light patina and usage wear), fittings with superficial oxidation but functional, surfaces with normal handling traces, old scratches and uniform dark patina, smooth opening/closing mechanism without excessive play.
