Refined 八雲塗Yakumo lacquerware - wooden Fubako文箱 designed with beautiful and vivid flowers on the lid by excellent workmanship.

Yakumo-nuri is a type of lacquerware produced in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. After the base coat process, the design is drawn using colored lacquer, blue mother-of-pearl, gold and silver powder, and dry lacquer, without any intermediate coating, and then finished with transparent lacquer. Over time, the lacquer becomes transparent, allowing the vivid design to emerge.
