Model Background and Features:
The Seiko brand "LUCENT" was primarily developed in the 1990s. As the name "Lucent" (shining) suggests, the brand aimed for elegant designs suitable for everyday wear. While primarily developed for women, unisex sizes like the 7N01-6750 are also available. In terms of historical background and trends, Seiko introduced the world's first commercially available quartz wristwatch, the "Astron," in 1969, during the Quartz Crisis/Quartz Revolution. Quartz technology subsequently spread rapidly throughout the 1970s and 1980s, significantly impacting the traditional Swiss mechanical watch industry. In the 1990s, leveraging the maturity of quartz technology, Seiko offered a variety of thin, highly accurate, and low-cost quartz watches. Lucent can be considered part of this trend. The 1990s was a time when women increasingly entered the workforce and the number of people owning watches as a fashion statement increased. According to an article in HAUTE-CHRONO, Lucent was a brand that captured this trend. At the time, Seiko targeted many general consumers (especially working women) by developing watches that combined design and quality at affordable prices, and the Lucent was a relatively affordable dress watch that combined everyday wear, style, and practicality. As if designed for divers with its faked typical revolving gold bezel and divers sturdy metal band this suit both business and casual wear. Its highly legible design is timeless. This model was produced at the most reliable Seiko factory Suwa Seikosha 諏訪精工舎in the late 1990s. Seiko developed to popularize quartz technology for the public in those days. The case design, featuring a white dial and bar indices, is highly legible and practical. The gold round case gives a classic impression, making this model easy to coordinate with both business and casual outfits. The battery has been replaced, and the watch is in working condition, ready to use.
