The Moore Pen Co. Moore model fountain pen, green marbled cellulose with gold-plated fittings, 110 mm long and 9.4 mm in diameter, originating from the United States in the first half of the 20th century, in good used condition and fully functional with a vacuum filling system and Moore’s Maniflex gold nib that is flexible and intact.
Description from the seller
The pen is presented in very good overall condition, with remarkable preservation both aesthetically and functionally, especially considering it is a vintage model with a vacuum filling system.
The body and the cap, made of green marbled celluloid, retain a vivid and attractive color, with excellent depth of the veining. They show micro surface marks and slight signs of use, typical of the passage of time, visible only under close inspection. No cracks, fissures, or deformations are observed, maintaining proper structural integrity.
The golden metallic elements (clip, rings, and fittings) are in good condition, with slight and uniform wear consistent with the age of the piece, without material loss or active corrosion. The upper ring remains intact and securely attached.
The Moore’s Maniflex nib, in gold, shows visible signs of use consistent with its age but remains intact, with no cracks or noticeable breaks. The original engravings remain clear and legible, and the nib retains its flexible character.
The vacuum loading system has been verified and is functioning correctly at the time of inspection, allowing normal ink loading, which adds significant value for those seeking a fully operational pen.
Overall, it is an original pen, well-preserved and functional, particularly attractive to collectors and writing enthusiasts who value flexible nibs and advanced filling systems, while also being suitable for regular use.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
