Sheaffer Triumph Touchdown fountain pen, made in the United States, with a black resin body and cap, gold‑plated clip and center band, 14K solid gold nib, 141 mm long and 10.5 mm in diameter, from the mid‑20th century, in good used condition with minor wear and a functioning Touchdown filling system.
Description from the seller
The pen is in very good overall condition, showing careful preservation consistent with an original Sheaffer Touchdown model from the 1950s.
The body and the cap, made of black resin, retain a good level of shine, with micro surface marks and slight signs of use, visible only under close inspection and entirely normal for an item of this age. No cracks, fissures, or deformations are observed, maintaining a solid and well-aligned structure.
The gold-plated elements (clip and central band) show slight and uniform wear, typical of use and the passage of time, with no significant losses or serious deterioration. The clip maintains good alignment and tension, and the original engravings remain clear and legible.
The 14K solid gold nib is intact, with the tip present and well aligned, showing signs of use consistent with the era, with no visible cracks or breaks. The feeder is properly adjusted to the assembly.
The Touchdown charging system has been verified and is functioning correctly at the time of inspection, allowing normal ink loading.
Overall, it is an original Sheaffer Touchdown, well preserved for its age, suitable for both collection and careful regular use, and representative of the quality and reliability of mid-20th century American engineering.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
