Emilio Notte (Italy), a Futurist artist, presents 'La grazia', a mixed-media original edition from 1950–1960, measuring 35 cm by 40 cm, hand-signed, sold with its carved and gilt period wooden frame, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Important original work by Emilio Notte, a leading exponent of Italian Futurism and later a protagonist of twentieth-century figuration.
The work depicts a dynamic composition of human figures broken down into geometric planes, rendered with a language that blends cubist suggestions and futurist sensibilities, typical of the artist's mature phase.
The sign is decisive and structural: Notte constructs the bodies through broken volumes, sharp angles, and rhythmic overlaps, creating a strong sense of movement and internal tension. The calibrated use of black and white accentuates the plastic contrast and gives the overall piece a remarkable expressive power.
The scene, although still concise, suggests an intense relationship between the figures, almost theatrical, one of the recurring themes in his work.
The work is presented in an antique frame made of carved and gilded wood with a green patina, which enhances its historical character and is consistent with the period of creation.
Condition: good, with normal signs of aging consistent with the age of the work.
Provenance: private collection.
A work of great collectible interest, ideal for enthusiasts of Italian historical avant-gardes, Futurism, and 20th-century art.
