Description from the seller

A feast of faces, a symphony of souls,
A vibrant tableau from the swinging sixties unfolds.
Eighty lives caught mid-revel, mid-jest,
Their choreographed chaos a photographer’s test.
Velvet drapes and flickering light conspire,
Every detail steeped in opulent fire.
Bottles gleam, platters glow, laughter hangs in the air—
A celebration where excess becomes art, rare and aware.
Soft blue marks murmur, subtle yet wise,
Not imperfections, but echoes where chance resides.
Like shadows drifting across an ancient scroll,
They lend a quiet mystique, deepening the whole.
A marvel of composition, untamed and scarce,
This work carries history’s unmistakable trace.
To own it is to hold a moment long past—
A fleeting eternity, exquisitely cast.

The black card mount measures 25cm x 25cm and is personally signed by Michael Joseph. This is the only colour laminate of its size, created shortly after the photo shoot, with no other print of this image existing in these dimensions.
Captured at the iconic Knebworth House, Hertfordshire, this true moment in time is accompanied by a special bonus:
– an extract from Michael’s book offering rare insight into the shoot
– selected vintage magazine extracts
– and a few small, personal surprises in a "we aim to please" manner
The laminate and its extras will be meticulously wrapped with care and devotion and dispatched promptly via Colissimo, ensuring it arrives in impeccable condition.

Seller's Story

My father, Michael Joseph, was an advertising photographer based in London from the mid-sixties to the early nineties. During that time, he created some truly remarkable work — his most famous moment being the Beggars Banquet gatefold for the Rolling Stones. My ongoing mission is to share and celebrate what we call 'the other photos' — the lesser-known but equally captivating pieces from his archive. Within this collection, you'll find a mix of test prints, images from specific photo shoots, and more personal works, all created with his characteristic passion and devotion. Many of these images owe their atmosphere to the magic of the darkroom: intricate group scenes, striking still lifes, and moments that draw the viewer in and stir emotion. Variety is key - and I often offer unique, one-off pieces. I hope you enjoy discovering my father’s work, and I look forward to sending you a genuine piece of photographic history.
