Oil painting. A beautiful, nostalgic landscape with haystacks and a church.
Style: Realism/Impressionism.
The painting is executed with flowing brushstrokes and has a warm atmosphere.
Canvas size: 30 x 40 cm.
With list: 40 x 50 cm.
Age at the beginning of the 20th century
In the original list with the label of the art dealership (old black-and-white photo showing the facade) with a long tradition: until 1950, the only art dealership in Maastricht.
Voluit is the name of the painter: Anton Joseph Clemens Wolter (born March 12, 1875, in Lippramsdorf, now part of Haltern; died January 8, 1955, in Recklinghausen). He was a German painter. Wolter is best known for his forest and heath landscapes, but he also created portraits, genre scenes with Dutch influences, still lifes, and stage designs.
Second to last photo: the painter passionately at work.
Several books have been written about this esteemed artist (see the cover of the last photo, the book does not belong to this lot).
