Description from the seller
'The Family' Acrylic on Canvas, size 10x11.5 inches
Lily Kassab is a Syrian-born contemporary visual artist based in Dublin. After graduating from the Institute
of Arts and Design in Damascus in 2004, she built a successful 19-year career as a designer. In late 2024,
she made the pivotal decision to follow her lifelong passion, transitioning to a full-time practice as a
painter.
Lily’s work is dedicated to the power of narrative. She paints figures that are archetypes of human
emotion, using a bold and intuitive approach to colour and texture to build their worlds. While
her personal journey from Syria to Ireland informs her perspective, her subjects are not tied to a
specific cultural heritage. Instead, they explore the shared, timeless stories of strength, balance, and
introspection.
Since fully immersing herself in the art world, Lily has quickly gained recognition. Her work is exhibited in
galleries including Dublin’s Guinness Gallery and Galleri SoHo in Sweden, and she has participated in
international group exhibitions from Milan to Palma. She has also been featured in several prestigious
publications, including The Holy Art Magazine and Suboart Magazine. Lily’s evolving journey is a
testament to the power of embracing one’s creative calling.
