"Let There Be More Light" is a song by Pink Floyd that appeared on their 1968 album A Saucerful of Secrets. This album marked a transition period for the band, as it was the last studio album with co-founder and main songwriter Syd Barrett and the first album with new member David Gilmour.

The song 'Let There Be More Light' was written and sung by Roger Waters.
It is the opening track of the album and presents Pink Floyd at a time when they were beginning to move away from their psychedelic roots and making a sonic advance towards progressive rock.

The song's lyrics cover the theme of contact with extraterrestrial life and extraterrestrial visitors.
The opening lines 'Far, far, far away / Way people heard him say / I will find a way to make them all / Let there be light, let there be light' lay the foundation for the song's theme.

Musically, the song is characterized by a distinctive guitar riff played by David Gilmour. It also contains some psychedelic elements characteristic of Pink Floyd's early era.
The use of effects and soundscapes was a trademark of the band at the time.

"Let There Be More Light" is an example of Pink Floyd's versatility, which continued to develop in the following years.
