Description from the seller
Katarzyna “Kasia” Blekiewicz (born in 1972 in Gdańsk, Poland) is a contemporary artist who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. In 1999, she earned her diploma in the studio class of Professor Maciej Świeszewski. As early as 2000, her work gained international recognition with a solo exhibition at the Consulate General of Poland in Strasbourg. Since then, she has collaborated with galleries both domestically and internationally, including Monkdogz Urban Art Gallery in New York.
Style and themes
Blekiewicz primarily paints with acrylic on canvas, in sizes ranging from 80 to 110 cm. Her works, such as Aquarius, Agat, or Levensboom, are a synthesis of nature and imagination. She draws inspiration from flora and fauna but transforms these into symbols, signs, and abstract forms. Instead of imitating reality, she invites the viewer to interpret and reflect. The symbolism in her work draws from nature, religion, and ancient cultures—and creates a visual poetry that evokes universal emotions.
International recognition
Her artworks have been exhibited in Poland, France, the United States, Australia, and other parts of Europe. They are part of private collections around the world, including in the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Austria, and the US.
Shipping can be arranged after the auction in consultation.
